Dr. Hussain Randathani
He was born at Marakkara village in malappuram, the Mappila heartland of Kerala in 1958. He was educated at Farook College, Calicut and Aligarh Muslim University in UP. He was awarded Ph.D by the University of Calicut for his thesis on the Mappila Muslim Society of 19th century.
Dr. Hussain Randathani, a native of Randathani in Malappuram district of Kerala, India is an author and writes on both history and politics. After studying at V.V.M High School, Marakkara, PSMO College Tirurangadi, Farook College, Calicut and Aligarh Muslim University, he earned his PhD from University of Calicut on the social and cultural History of Mappila Muslims of Malabar in the Nineteenth century. From AMU, he holds a diploma in West Asian studies and has completed certificate programmes in journalism and Urdu, Persian and Arabic languages. He has also specialized in Islamic History, Medieval India and Kerala History. He served as professor of History at T.K.M College Kollam. MES College Mannarkkad and West Asian Studies Centre at University of Calicut. He also served as the principal of MES Keveeyam College, Valanchery. HE has been a member and chairman of Boards of Studies and Academic bodies under various Universities. He has authored twenty five books to date.
